Dire Dawa first railway station

Dire Dawa, Ethiopia

The first railway station of Dire Dawa, built in wood. Built around 1901, it will be demolished about years later and replaced with a new one in stone, inaugurated in 1915, that is still standing today. Aside from the station as such, the complex included repair shops, a foundry, spare part warehouses and everything connected with the railway linking Dire Dawa to Djibouti. Contemporary postcard.
