Fig. 9.2 Geological map of the volcanic rocks of the Hagere Selam area. The spatial variations of rocks, lithologic contacts, and the structures were extracted from 1:25,000 scale SPOT and 1:100,000 scale Landsat ETM+ 2008. Colour composite images of Landsat bands 7, 5 and 2 were commonly used to differentiate between the clastic Mesozoic sedimentary rocks and the overlaying volcanic rocks, but geologic structures, such as faults, fractures, and lineaments were drawn from SPOT imagery
