Photo 15.2 Chege forest (1936–2016), in a cove that is difficult to access. A comparison between an oblique aerial photograph of 1936 (see Chap. 31) and a satellite image of 2016 demonstrates that the extent of the eastern part of Chege forest has not changed since at least 1936. The base of the forest (line A–B) is 1 km wide. Open Olea-Acacia woodland has expanded into the present-day northwestern extension of the forest.
