A game reaches this table once it has been played out to a win, a loss or a draw over at least 10 plies, and the player has chosen a username. A game that was abandoned rather than finished is worth nothing, and so is one that ended in the opening.
How the points are worked out
A win against another player is worth 7 points and a draw 3. A win against one of the five challengers is worth what that challenger is set to: Sahle Selassie (Apprentice) 1, Lebna Dengel (Court player) 2, Ras Wolde Selassie (Master) 4, Taytu Betul (Empress) 5, Zara Yaqob (Archivist) 7. A draw pays half, rounded down. Games that end in abandonment, and games shorter than 10 plies, are worth nothing at all.
Every move in every game on this table was checked by the server against the position it stored, and the result is the server’s own reading of the final position. Games against the court carry one caveat and it is worth stating: the server verifies that each move was legal, but it cannot recompute the challenger’s own moves within its time budget, so those points are capped at 20 a day. The rated Elo table inside the game remains the measure of play against other people. Scoring version 1.
