What this record describes
A 19th-century Ethiopian healing scroll (tälsäm or yä bərana kətab) of parchment and pigment, nearly two meters long (15.2 x 198.1 cm), attributed to the Amhara or Tigrinya peoples. The Met credits it to a Northern Highlands däbtära (religious scholar) and catalogues talismanic imagery of faces, animals, and male figures. Museum purchase, transferred from the Library (95.66).
