What this record describes
A late 17th-century Ethiopian prayer book of the Arganonä Maryam (The Organ of Mary) from the Lasta region, made of parchment, pigment ink, wood, leather, and fiber (16.5 x 15.5 cm). The Met attributes its illumination to Baselyos, also known as "The Ground Hornbill Master". Acquired through the Louis V. Bell Fund, 2006 (2006.99).
