What this record describes
Painting on fol. 73r of Princeton University Library, Princeton Ethiopic Manuscripts, Princeton, NJ, 65 (PEM (Princeton) 65), dated First half 18th century. The scene is recorded (with qualification) by the Princeton Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Egyptian Miracles of Mary project (PEMM) as "3. St Mary extending her foot to touch the woman lying below her; 4. The custodian of the church and the healed woman standing before the icon of St Mary, who is extending her hand". PEMM links it to the story "A poor woman with a broken leg is healed by the icon of Saint Mary in the Church of the Virgin (Harat ar-Rum) [in Cairo]".
