Painting on fol. 30r of Princeton University Library, Princeton Ethiopic Manuscripts, Princeton, NJ, 57 (PEM (Princeton) 57), dated 18th century. The scene is recorded (with qualification) by the Princeton Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Egyptian Miracles of Mary project (PEMM) as "3. The bishop and the faithful standing in front of the icon of the Virgin and Child, which has healed his hand". PEMM links it to the story "The Muslim whom Saint Mary told to receive baptism and later, as Bishop of Rome, he cut off his hand because of a carnal thought.".
