A win against another player is worth 7 points and a draw 3. A win against one of the five challengers is worth what that challenger is set to: Sahle Selassie (Apprentice) 1, Lebna Dengel (Court player) 2, Ras Wolde Selassie (Master) 4, Taytu Betul (Empress) 5, Zara Yaqob (Archivist) 7. A draw pays half, rounded down. Games that end in abandonment, and games shorter than 10 plies, are worth nothing at all.
Points won against the court are capped at 20 a day; the server checks that each move was legal but does not recompute the challenger’s own moves. The rated Elo table inside the game remains the measure of play against other people. Scoring version 1.
