What the catalogue identifies
An Ethiopian manuscript containing:(The Ethiopic Version of a Christianized story of the Buddha). f. 4r. በረላም. ዘቅዱስ መድኃኔ ዓልም. The religious romance entitled " the History of Baralam and Yewasef,"ገድሎሙ ለቅዱሳን በረላም ወይዋስፉ. f. 130r. This translation was executed by one 'Enbiikom, or Habakkuk, for king Galawdewds, or Claudius, A.M. 7045 = A.D. 1553, from the Arabic version of Bar-sauma 'ibn Abu '1-Faraj . The present copy was written during the reign of king'Iyasu (II. A.D. 1730—55), when John (III.) was 'abuna (A.D. 1746 — 62), for one Theodore.
